Nichola Deane was born in Bolton in 1973 and was educated at St Andrews University and at the University of Manchester, where she gained a PhD in 2002. Her poems have appeared in Archipelago, Poetry London, and Magma, among others. She is the joint winner of the 2012 Flarestack Pamphlet Prize for My Moriarty. She lives and teaches in Warwickshire.
